Auto-Seating Mini Braces (Techniques in English and French)
Auto-Seating Mini Braces with specialized NiTi clips in a low profile, Siamese Twin Straight Wire Appliance (Alpine™, RMO). The new NiTi clips produce light, continuous forces that are gentle and work synergistically with NiTi archwires. This unique system combines both the Locking with Seating of the curled NiTi clip of all regular archwire sequences to fully express early de-rotation, in-out, leveling, angulation, and finishing torque. (The difference is a significant improvement to prior passive self-ligation systems that lock-only, but cannot seat archwires for ideal finishing).

The Auto-Seating mini brace with the new, curled NiTi clip (shown blue) is a first for Siamese twin braces combined with low profile comfort.
This unique mini NiTi clip has been designed with a flowing Y-shape (like a whale-tail) to functionally pass-through-the-occlusal tie wings (bottom) as shown. This permits placement of full color elastic chain (molar to molar), or color elastomers (upper incisors) for patient motivation and enjoyment (eliminating under-the-wire placements).
The curled NiTi clip shown stores potential energy and with all active archwires releases the resilient, flexed clip's kinetic energy to seat any regular archwire sequence into the slot base early. The dental movements are also accurate because the clips seat the archwire into the occlusal-lingual (bottom left corner) of the slot for high finishing.
The system is passive with small archwires (< .018”) at the start of treatment for flow. Most importantly it is an active, Siamese twin mini bracket mechanism that acts like a mini-motor for automatically detailing tooth movements particularly torque and finishing excellence (Alpine™, RMO).
The Auto-Seating function of the resilient NiTi clip in the mini braces is shown for gentle and automatic de-rotations unilaterally (on one side) with .018” NiTi archwire.
Secondly, for complete lingual displacements (tongue-side) of teeth, the initially curved NiTi clip flexes outward bilaterally (on both sides) to kinetically seat all archwires early toward the base of the slot. This in turn moves the bracket automatically into the correct forward position as shown at the end.
These dental movements take place both automatically and accurately because the resilient curved NiTi clip is reversibly deformed, seating all archwires back into the occlusal-lingual corner of the archwire slot.
